DAILY WORDS OF WISDOM A daily Bible exposition by Pst (Dr.) Isidore Ojukwu Nwankwo, Wisdom and Revelation International Evangelical Ministry (WRIEM) Topic: Who are the sons of God? Date: 24th July 2020 Theme scriptures: "And now, little children abide in him, that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that everyone that doeth righteousness is born of him" (1Jihn2:28-29). John 1:12 said, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name ". A person receives this power when he believes and confesses Jesus as his personal Lord and saviour. Rom. 10:9-10 declares, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation ". At this point, the person becomes a believer, a child of God, receiving the gifts of righteousness, salvation and eternal life. The power of God is available in him, but he might not be operating or demonstrating in the power in him. To operate in this power, he need to attain the level of being born of the Spirit of God. At this point, he does not commit sin. This might sound impossible! But 1John 3:9 declares, "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot since, because he is born of God". The seed of God, which you received at the point of being born again need to germinate and grow. This is the attainment, as it grows, it produces fruits that manifests in your life, making you not to sin. 1John 5:20 also declares, "And we know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not". So those that are born of God, do not commit sin. Then who are those that do not commit sin? The scriptures clearly shoe us those that do not commit sin. They are the people qualified to be identified as born of God. Gal. 5:16-17 said, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to another :so that yesterday cannot do the things that ye would ". Prayers : I pray that as many that have received the power to be the sons of God but are not led by the Spirit. That the hold of sin in their life is broken.
